SUMMARY:Daddy Exhibition: Works by Kay Zhang
DESCRIPTION:As early as the summer of 2016\, when the Art For All Society moved to the Macau Art Garden\, the first exhibition was that of Zhang Ke. At that time\, Zhang Ke established a form of artistic expression that looked like the inner pages of ancient Western religious handmade books. Over time\, In Zhang Ke’s works\, the skills of hand-painted pen drawings become more and more sophisticated; the collage images are slowly receding. \nThe exquisite hand-painted decorative side is gone\, replaced by a straight line that mimics the frame. The frame with rich specifications and symmetrical and orderly arrangement is transformed from the original pages of ancient religious handmade books into solemn altarpieces. This change also allowed Zhang Ke to determine the form of the current exhibition. Altarpieces are usually displayed in front of a Christian church\, painted with the story of the Virgin Mary or Jesus\, for the worship of the believers. \nIn this exhibition\, a total of three works were drawn in the form of an altarpiece. This form itself has a sense of sacredness. The expectations of oneself are also drawn on the altar\, and the artist borrows this form to gain strength. At the same time it is a statement of the eagerness to be understood. SUMMARY:International Youth Dance Festival 2019
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macau’s handover to China\, the International Youth Dance Festival 2019 “Marvellous Dance for the 20th Anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China” has invited young people from regions and countries along the Belt and Road to perform in Macau. This event gives the Macau youth a chance to learn the cultural characteristics of each region and country\, promoting exchange among the different groups of youths\, providing opportunities for them to learn and show their artistic abilities\, and establishing a platform for friendship\, in order to achieve cultural integration. \n \nThe programme includes a series of activities: from outdoor to artistic performances\, a parade and workshops\, there is an array to enjoy! Full of life with international artists and dancers\, this festival aims to promote Macau as an international city where everything can happen. On July 22 and 23\, the public can appreciate an outdoor performance at the Anim’Arte area\, with groups such as Radix Dance Crew (Norway)\, Yu Hua Dance Club (Malaysia)\, Dance Clube of Taipei University Marine Technology (Taiwan)\, Ballet Folklorico Guijarro (Mexico) and much more! The next day highlights are Akragas Folk Group (Italy)\, Dancingstar (Portugal)\, Manu (New Zealand) and lots of local collectives. \nJuly 24 and 25 focus on indoor performances by international groups\, taking place at the Macau Forum. DESCRIPTION:The concept of “Life”\, a long-standing subject in philosophy with various ideas being continuously advocated by philosophers throughout the history of human civilization\, is the most crucial theme in myths\, religions and theories. The understanding of Life influences people’s interpretation of life and their perspectives on society\, culture\, social norm\, power structure\, identity\, self-identification and so on. The concept of Life is the root of all issues. Each individual takes their entire life in quest of their own meaning of “Life”. Its meaning not only lives in the narrative of history and religion\, but also resides in our mind\, awaiting intellectual collision and discourse. \nPhotographers in the “Life” photography exhibition use photographs as carriers to embody their understanding of life and death. In place of expounding ideas by verbose writing\, the photographers deliver the notion by creating visual tension in their photographs. They anticipate an open “debate” with every exhibitor and ask questions regarding Life to all of us.
