SUMMARY:TEDxTinHuaWomen: “Bold & Brilliant *Without Apologies”
DESCRIPTION:The next TEDxTinHuaWomen has a diverse speaker lineup with a mix of speakers\, performers and two networking sessions in the community fair for the December 6 event\, themed “Bold & Brilliant *Without Apologies”. These annual talks are designed to showcase women and girls as change-makers and innovators in Hong Kong\, as well as to provide a platform for sharing ideas important to the community. \nThis year’s speaker lineup includes: Brenda Scofield\, with “Old & Bold – An Alternative Journey Through Life”; Chi Chi Cheng talking on “How I Found The Meaning of Fortune Through Art” (she is a multi-disiplinary artist who experiments with mixing different mediums such as food\, participatory art\, performance\, sound\, installations\, paintings and videos)\, but also Angélica Anglés\, Gigi Chao\,  Jesamine Dyu\, among others. \nTogether\, the seven speakers with diverse backgrounds explore the idea of how different people with varying perspectives and views can be Bold and Brilliant in their own ways. Being Bold takes individual courage\, and being Brilliant rallies others to make change collectively. Audience members – both men and women alike – will be inspired to be Bold and Brilliant without having to apologise for it. \nThe Friday afternoon event also features four experiential zones by JPM\, Allen and Overy\, BAML and the TEDxTinHuaWomen committee. The experiential zones aim to help build local communities that create exponential impact\, while providing attendees exposure to local sustainable brands including Glowgear Pro\, Cosmo Crew\, Retykle\, Redress and more. \nThe December 6 event coincides with the global TEDWomen event to be hosted in Palm Springs\, California. Held over a half-day\, the program includes exclusive streaming of talks from the global TEDWomen event in Palm Springs\, a line-up of local speakers with “ideas worth sharing”\, networking and community activities. The Hong Kong “Bold & Brilliant” event is one of many TEDx events happening around the globe between December 4 and 6\, 2019 that will expand on the ideas brought up at TEDWomen. \nWhen: Friday\, December 6\, 2019 \nWhere: ICC\, Sky 100\, Kowloon\, Hong Kong \nHow much: Advance tickets (until November 1\, 2019) – HKD $500 per person \nNormal tickets (after November 1\, 2019) – HKD $600 per person \nFor more information and ticketing\, click here

SUMMARY:Exhibition Es.tab.lish.ment by Pedro Pascoinho
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Es.tab.lish.ment\, by Pedro Pascoinho is a series of 20 oil-on-paper artworks created from Western European images and cultural icons. The enigmatic and intimate approach that the artist establishes is the heir to a North American Cinematographic imaginary of the Post-Second World War period\, whose figurative representation elements (characters and objects) refer us back to the passage of time. \nA suspended time that repeats itself in fragments of symbols and gestures\, using the color red as a guideline of a pictorial aesthetic speech. Pascoinho challenges us to think about the human condition by evoking “represented” spaces giving the spectator the role of recreating his own narrative. \nWhen: December 6\, 2019–January 6\, 2020 \nWhere: Casa Garden\, Orient Foundation\, 13 Praça de Luís de Camões\, Macau \nHow much: Free admission \nFor more information\, check the event’s Facebook page

SUMMARY:Motown Magic Mondays at The Roadhouse Macau: Volume II
DESCRIPTION:You asked for it and they listened! Motown Magic Mondays are back at The Roadhouse Macau and so are the positive vibes and funky vinyl sounds of DJ Rocklee & Co! To set your Monday night on fire\, DJ Rocklee and his mates DJ Ted and DJ King G.N.S will be mixing all-time classics with future sound. We can guarantee you won’t be able to sit still. Put on your dancing shoes and bring your friends to dance! \nRocklee came from a deeply rooted authentic hip hop background. Collecting vinyl and dancing since he was 15\, his passion for music eventually led him to DJing. He is a genre-bender that fuses timeless classics to future sound. Anything that is funky\, groovy and soulful\, Rocklee will drop into the mix. He has worked as the official DJ for countless dance competitions\, opening for hip hop clubs and private events from weddings to pool parties. Currently\, he is working independently and would play for hip hop nights in Club Cubic and around Hong Kong. (FIVEPLUG/Chicago) got his start as a local DJ in Madison\, Wisconsin in 2007. Through traditional apprenticeship\, G.N.S learned solid scratch techniques and crafted his personal style of creative selection.
