Until February 28\, 2019\, Broadway Macau will turn int0 Broadway Food Street into Hot Pot Street\, and presenting 60 tasty hot pot and clay pot selections. In addition to classic hot pots such as braised lamb brisket casserole at lei ka choi\, Broadway Macau also introduces 14 new hot pot and clay pot dishes. \nThis October\, the popular braised lamb brisket casserole at Lei Ka Choi is back; once again bringing guests quality grass-fed Chinese black lamb\, plus crisp water chestnuts\, silky bean curd skin and secret sauce. Last year\, more than 7\,000 of these casseroles were sold in six months\, representing more than seven tons of lamb brisket used. The signature casserole is prepared in a traditional clay pot over a charcoal flame to ensure slow\, even heat that tenderizes the meat and creates a harmony of flavors. \nIf you are looking for an authentic Japanese hot pot experience\, don’t miss the Chi Sasa Japanese Cuisine delicacy. The hot pot soup base features quality miso paste simmered with wagyu beef and assorted seafood. Apart from the indulgent assortment of fresh prawns\, squid\, fish and wagyu beef\, the delectable pork meatballs are handmade with Japanese kurobuta pork\, which is known for its tenderness. As one of the oldest and most well-established restaurants in Macau\, Fong Seng Lai Kei is famous for its traditional Shunde dishes. This year\, Fong Seng Lai Kei is bringing assorted seafood and suckling pig hot pot to welcome the autumn and winter seasons. Savoury suckling pig\, sweet seafood and fresh vegetables are simmered together to create a hearty and chunky soup base. Parsley and coriander are added before serving to impart sweetness to this nourishing stew that is perfect for the cooler seasons. \n \nKatong Corner’s chefs\, meanwhile\, have handpicked high-quality winter melon\, ginseng\, coconut and chicken\, preparing chicken with ginseng and coconut Casserole. SUMMARY:Macao Light Festival 2018
DESCRIPTION:“Macao Light Festival 2018 – Time Travel in Macao” will be staged in until January\, 2019. Revolving around the concept of time\, the Festival will weave up local elements of gastronomy\, humanity\, architecture\, culture\, creativity and other realms. There will be three different routes expand through the city. \nThe event will not only manifest the city’s East-meets-West cultures\, but also portray nostalgic stories and childhood memories of Macau people\, leading spectators onto a glittery journey across time and space in Macau. More gastronomic elements are added to the programme and routes of the Macao Light Festival in parallel with the “2018 Macao Year of Gastronomy”. Five projection mapping shows will be staged at three locations\, besides an itinerant projection show at the Taipa Municipal Market. \nProjection Mapping creative teams are invited from Portugal\, Belgium and Macau to perform at the Ruins of St. Paul’s. Besides projection mapping shows\, interactive games and light installations showcasing the gastronomic culture of Macau\, “Food Truck x Light” and Gastronomy Night Market will debut as new highlights to deliver the cross-field creativity of Macau as a Creative City of Gastronomy. \n \nIn 2015\, the Macau Government launched the first edition of the Macao Light Festival which is now held annually in December at various locations in Macau Peninsula and on the islands. The event program includes projection mapping\, light installations\, interactive games and a series of other activities. SUMMARY:18th Macao City Fringe Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 18th Macao City Fringe Festival invites audience to rediscover the exceptional in everyday life\, and to discover theatre spaces in every corner of the city\, liberating creativity\, injecting changes to daily life\, and ultimately turning art into a daily routine. \nThe 18th Macao City Fringe Festival\, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau\, features a series of outreach activities\, including workshops\, talks\, art critique and sharing sessions\, bringing the audience a rich programme of activities and diverse artistic experiences. It will take place from January 11 to 27\, 2019. \nThere will be workshops\, family events\, outdoor activities\, multimedia installations\, exhibitions\, interactive performances\, music\, dance and theatre. Their programme is vast and it includes artists from all over the world: UK\, Taiwan\, China\, Portugal and much more! \nSigma is a performance from the UK with a mix of juggling\, geometry and classical Indian dance. A Short Time Escape is a theatrical performance conducted in Cantonese\, but worth seeing\, since it takes place in a live supermarket in Taipa! Wet Sounds\, by Joel Cahen (UK)\, is an underwater concert taking place at an actual swimming pool. Besides these\, there are several other theatrical performances\, musical concerts\, installations and other events in different artistic forms. \n \nWorkshops for All \nThe “Interactive Installations Workshops”\, conducted by local art group Little Studio Ensemble\, illustrates how technology works with art and they do so with art pieces that respond on the canvas of the installations. Each participant will create a simple interactive piece that will be assembled and curated into a bigger composition. Macau choreographer Tracy Wong\, Hong Kong artist Mao Wei\, dance group Hung Dance from Taiwan and flamenco artist Sònia Sánchez from Spain will also host three dance workshops\, “On-Site – Body Playground”\, in which they will teach techniques of floor flow\, contemporary dance and flamenco\, exploring the charm and vigour of contemporary dance. In addition\, American artist Morgan O’Hara will hold a “Life Cycle Drawing Workshop”\, guiding participants to explore the phenomenology of the unconscious as evoked through the act of drawing. \n \nThis edition of the Fringe Festival also features family workshops\, to bring families close with art and to experience the beauty of art. In “Edi’s Mime Workshop”\, French mime and shadowgrapher Edi Rudo will teach participating families how to manipulate imaginary things\, such as touching walls\, climbing ladders and pushing imaginary heavy objects\, and share with them a number of his best magic tricks and audience mime interaction skills. In the “Family Dance Workshop – I Love Balls” by the Changde Modern Dance Company\, instructor Wu Bo will teach participants to explore the different properties of balls through impromptu dance choreography and physical interaction in a relaxed environment with no special requirements. Participants will also get to join an outdoor interactive performance after they complete the workshop.
