SUMMARY:Jurassic X The Dinosaur Park at Broadway Macau
DESCRIPTION:Millions of years ago\, the planet was dominated by ancient vertebrate beings–dinosaurs. Massive volcano eruptions poured boiling lava over the earth\, burying much of the landscape\, and killing most of the dinosaurs. Millions of years later\, paleontologists are digging up fossil remains to learn more about the life of these formidable creatures. \nDinosaurs once ruled the entire terrestrial ecology for over 1.6 billion years. The evolutionary history of these massive governors remains mysterious. In the process of reasoning\, humans realized a message which transcended time and space–living is not equal to breathing and life is moving in various formations. Only by leaving our traces would it represent that we haven’t existed in vain. In “Jurassic X The Dinosaur Park”\, Broadway Macau takes you back to the era of dinosaurs to experience the sensation of the heyday of these giant lizards. \nAt the Jeep of Dinosaur Skull from Graveyard to Playfield\, you’ll ride on the dinosaur skull jeep originally created by the park and let your cinematic dream come true! From the lost and desperate kingdom to the life-abundant dinosaur playground\, the jeep takes you to lively dinosaurs in the dense jungle. Whether it’s the docile triceratops\, the fierce t-rex\, or the pterosaur hovering in the sky\, the exhibition will definitely take your breath away! \nAlso\, know the Dinosaurs from Cave Archeology: learn more about the dinosaurs by digging and exploring with archeological tools. We have created a mysterious cave to let children discover the lives of archaeologists. The area emphasizes actual practices to train children’s concentration and observation skills. The process of digging dinosaur bones can also strengthen their logical thinking and comprehension skills. \nYou’ll also be able to check out the hungry baby dinosaurs the await at the Brood Chambers! Before becoming adult dinos\, they must go through the period of baby dinos! Gazing at you with innocent big eyes\, the adorable baby dinosaurs are sure to get tons of hugs! Come pat the little ones but you better watch out for their sharp teeth! \nWhen: December 18\, 2020–March 21\, 2021 \nWhere: 2/F\, Broadway Macau\, Avenida Marginal Flor de Lótus\, Cotai \nHow much: MOP $120 per person (free entry for children below 80 cm in height) \nFor more information\, check the event’s official website

SUMMARY:Pátio Memories – Exhibition of Life in Pátios and Becos in the Bygone Days
DESCRIPTION:The Cultural Affairs Bureau presents the exhibition “Pátio Memories – Exhibition of Life in Pátios and Becos in the Bygone Days” at Pátio da Eterna Felicidade\, allowing the public to experience the life of Macau people in the bygone days and deepen their understanding of the architectural and spatial characteristics of the buildings. With the restoration work on the exterior façade of the buildings at 8 and 10\, Pátio da Eterna Felicidade completed and the outdoor space at 14\, Pátio da Eterna Felicidade opened\, visitors can appreciate the architectural appearance of Pátio da Eterna Felicidade. \nCurrently\, there are nearly 200 streets named “pátio” or “beco” in Macau. Among them\, the area of Pátio da Eterna Felicidade near the Ruins of St. Paul’s College and Freguesia de Santo António is relatively large and has been better preserved. It features traditional Chinese residential buildings of varying heights but in a coherent style\, showing the distinctive characteristics of pátios. This exhibition will present the daily lives of residents in pátios in the past through illustrations\, videos and photographs in a diverse and interesting way\, themed on three essential aspects in our lives – “food”\, “lifestyle” and “playtime”\, revealing the culture and customs of people living in patios and alleys in bygone days. In collaboration with local illustrator Un Chi Wai\, the exhibition features a variety of scenes and characters inspired by life in these places\, making it a lively and interesting experience for the public. \nIn the future\, the Cultural Affairs Bureau will make use of the open space near Pátio da Eterna Felicidade to organise thematic activities related to the culture of pátios and becos from time to time\, and will continue to carry out reinforcement and restoration works\, striving to complete the revitalisation plan for the area as soon as possible and develop it into a future cultural and leisure area. \nWhen: From February 7\, 2021 \nWhere: Pátio da Eterna Felicidade\, Rua da Felicidade\, Macau \nHow much: Free admission \nFor more information\, call +853 8988 4000 or check here

SUMMARY:Chinese New Year 2021
DESCRIPTION:It is the most important and colorful Chinese festival celebrated by the majority of the local population\, where shops\, offices\, factories close for this traditional holiday. During ten days there are a huge number of events celebrating the New Year. The long dragon and lions dance on the streets\, crowds visit the temples\, lanterns\, flowers and entertainment comes alive in the most important squares of the city. It is also a tradition when people visit and greet each other with two joined hands closed\, saying “Kung Hei Fat Choi” and offering “Lai Si” (red pockets) containing money\, which is a way to wish good luck and prosperity throughout the year to friends and relatives. \nThe 15th day of the First Moon is the Lanterns Festival\, being equally Valentine’s Days in the Chinese tradition. At night\, the celebrations continue with colorful lanterns placed around. Small balls of glutinous rice are prepared as dessert\, for homophonic reasons and symbolize the “ribbon of friendship”\, “family reunion” or “good luck” for the Chinese. \nWhen: February 12–14\, 2021 \nWhere: All over the city \nHow much: Free admission \nFor more information\, check here
