Bene Italian Kitchen’s Food & Wine Mercato will treat diners to the wonders of the Venetian Carnival – allowing diners to immerse themselves in a signature authentic Italian experience while enjoying the ‘carnevale-inspired’ cuisine to celebrate the festival in a fun and vibrant market atmosphere.
The much-anticipated Venetian Carnival held every February is known for its intricate masks and annual masquerade festival, and to celebrate, Bene Food & Wine Mercato has curated an authentic Venetian-themed menu with a particular emphasis on the region’s acclaimed seafood and cheese dishes on February 15 and 16, 2019. Designed by Chef Luca Pecorari, Bene’s Executive Sous Chef, the menu prepares diners to be overwhelmed with the seafood-rich dishes such as moeche – deep fried soft shell crab with fresh pickled vegetable salsa, zuppa di pesce alla cipriani – seafood chowder with cod, shrimps and saffron, vongole al vino – sautéed fresh clams with white wine and garlic and sarde in saor – fried Italian sardine marinated with vinegar, onion, sultana and pine seeds.
Other must-try specialties are costole di manzo e funghi trifolati – slow cooked prime beef ribs and fegato di vitello alla Veneziana – Venetian style pan fried veal liver with onion confit. Iconic desserts including chiacchiere e struffoli – classic Venetian carnival sweet fritters, as well as our signature tiramisu are a prefect end to the feast. Now entering its third year, the Bene Food & Wine Mercato is a unique dining concept that explores the culinary traditions and authentic flavors of Italy, in a vibrate market atmosphere where diners can wine and dine like a true Italian while browsing the wine displays and interactive cooking stations.
The Mercato also boasts a range of Italian ingredients and artisanal products for sale so guests can recreate their favorite dishes at home. The upcoming exciting themes will be The Amalfi Coast in March for seafood lovers, Food from Famous Films in April and the rich regional cuisine from the central regions of the country.
