An annual celebration attended by eminent monks, local government officials, community representatives and many other dignitaries, this long-revered celebration of the Buddha’s birthday features a musical ensemble and traditional Thai dancers, with public participation welcomed in this famous Thai ritual until late in the evening. The icon – gifted to Macau by Thailand in the 1980s and located near Macau Jockey Club – attracts many devout Buddhists and others on this special occasion.
