Lai Sut Weng, the winner of “Orient Foundation Art Award” in 2014, will have the opening of her first Macau solo exhibition “Interposition – Works by Lai Sut Weng” in AFA on October 14 (Friday), at 6:30 p.m. She even creates a new series for the exhibition, a total of nine oil paintings will be showcased and they are all Lai’s latest artworks.
‘Interposition’ is a method of creation and a metamorphosis on Lai’s career path. Using the features of Macau’s street as the background, create different urban amusement parks meticulously devised by the artist. The door of a house on the backstreet was transformed into an entrance to a circus. Teacups spin in the city. Streets are struck with balloons thus traffic access is not possible. Buses are occupied by huge birds. Elephant wants to play with you, while Bear can hardly sit still and Rabbit wishes to take you out of your study…
