Summer is here and with it comes Mighty Greens Macau’s workshops! Let the kids spend their immense energy in fun activities, whilst learning about planting, sustainability, and love for nature. When thinking about sustainability one must first understand the full life-cycle of a product!
To see beyond what one perceives at first glance as an old car tire, wood pallets, cabinet shelves, and so on, and turn it into something useful again, requires vision and creativity. Farming in a city requires creativity and vision. To instill this ethos in a kid’s mind is to empower them with skills that will enable them to be creative in whatever field they embark on in the future. In the same way, to connect them to what grows in the ground, nurture healthy soil and encourage biodiversity, is what our planet needs to survive.
Sharing the love we have for our home, and turn it into something beautiful and impactful is the way to help others, cultivate a stronger community, and promote a more sustainable way of living. The workshop is comprised of 10 sessions every Monday and Wednesday from July 19 to August 18, 2021 at Escola Portuguesa de Macau’s outdoor patio, in both Portuguese and English.
The workshops teach kids to plant, grow and take care of microgreens with the help of the Mighty Greens team. The class about seeds, for kids aged between four and six, is taught from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, while sprouts are meant for the ages of seven till 12, from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. Veggies are classes for teens from 13 to 16, from 11:30am to 1:00pm.
