The Parade for the Celebration of Chinese New Year has become one of Macau’s signature festivities with the aim to present fascinating celebrations that blend a diversity of cultural gems for local residents and visitors from around the world. The first parade takes place on the third day of the Lunar New Year, with the participation of 13 to 15 parade floats, joined by over 1,000 performers formed by local performance groups and external performance groups from various countries and regions, stage performances and fireworks display.
Spectator stands are available at the main stage area and along the parade route to accommodate residents and visitors to enjoy the show. The second parade is held a few days later at the northern district, with parade floats along the route and a finale cultural show on stage, as to encourage visitors and residents to explore this neighborhood and to promote community tourism. The splendid parade floats will be showcased at specific outdoor locations in Macau, where local residents and visitors can enjoy the sight of these illuminated floats.
