Finally, New York-born line of burger shops, Shake Shack, has opened its first location in Macau at The Londoner Macao. Shake Shack is serving their iconic burgers, fries, hot dogs, shakes, concretes, and even a few Macau-inspired goodies. With the mission of Stand for Something Good, this restaurant focuses on local suppliers and producers but also artists. Shake Shack Macau offers a wide array of favorites such as their classic juicy hamburgers –ShackBurger and SmokeShack–hot dogs, their crinkle-cut fries, ice cream, and much more.
The ShackBurger is made with freshly ground 100% all-natural Angus beef and served with American cheese, fresh lettuce, and tomato brought together with their secret ShackSauce. Those looking for a meatless option should go for their ‘Shroom Burger, made with crispy-fried Portobello mushroom, melted muenster, and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and the ShackSauce. Besides these, they also serve other types of hamburgers, drinks, and more!
To provide the Macau crowd with an elevated taste of home, Shake Shack has crafted an exclusive hand-spun shake, Ginger Crush, and two exclusive freshly made concretes, the Queen of Tart and Olá, Serradura. The latter is based on one of the city’s most popular desserts, serradura, while the Queen of Tart is made of vanilla custard combined with pureed strawberries and pieces of the well-loved Portuguese egg tart mixed in. The delicious shake is made of vanilla custard with pureed mango and pineapple, candied ginger and capped with whipped cream.
Shake Shack has partnered with a local illustrator, Kun Lam, to do a pre-opening mural to welcome the local community. The artwork is inspired in the iconic Portuguese tiles with white and blue backgrounds (called azulejos in Portuguese) and street signs that remember the ones all around Macau. The Shack’s first venue in Macau offers international flavors and an artisanal food experience hailing from the city that never sleeps.
Opening hours: Monday–Sunday, 11:00am–11:00pm
