The 2019 Macau Taoist Festival highlights the city’s rich heritage wrought by centuries of Oriental spiritual beliefs, customs and culture. It showcases the city’s Taoist ritual music and the traditional martial art Tai Chi. Taoist ritual music has already been listed as part of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. The festival programme additionally includes an exhibition of Taoist artefacts. Highlights include an exhibition of Taoist painting, calligraphy, photography, altars and artefacts, but also a Taoist ritual music performance.
