The Tanabata festival comes to the Hotel Okura Macau. Tanabata is an ancient Chinese love story derived from two thousand years ago about the Princess and the Cowherd, who could only meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar. It was introduced to Japan as a traditional festival afterwards. Japanese would write their wishes on Tanzaku paper (colorful, small strips of papers) and hang them on bamboo branches for making wishes and decorative purposes.
Your wishes can also come true at Hotel Okura Macau. Write your earnest wishes on the Tanzaku and hang them on the bamboo wish tree in our lobby. Enjoy a choreographed performance of the famous Soran Bushi traditional song & dance of encouragement & unity by our very own Kimono Ambassadors. The series of good fortune of happiness and prosperity continues on with Japanese Origami Crane folding and many more lucky events held at Hotel Okura Macau main lobby.
