The play “Bougainvillea and Golden Lotus” has received strong support and guidance from the publicity and Culture Department of the Macao Central Committee joint office and Bauhinia culture group. It vividly shows the unique geographical features of Zhuhai and Macau separated by a strip of water, and comprehensively tells that the people of Zhuhai and Macau share the same roots and come down in one continuous line in culture.
Under the guidance of the principle of “one country, two systems”, in the process of comprehensively promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area, it is a vivid story of interdependent and integrated development. The complete suite is composed of 14 vocal suites and national orchestral music. Taking the deep feelings between Zhuhai and Macau since Macau’s return to the motherland in 1999 as the clue, taking the essence of the people of the two places and the feelings of family and country as the core, it makes bold innovation in the form of music creation and creates high-quality national music for both refined and popular tastes through the perfect combination of national orchestral music. The concert is performed by the Chinese National Orchestra of Zhuhai, the Music and Dance Group of Zhuhai, and the Cheong Hong Chinese Orchestra of Macau.
