Cais 22 Restaurant–otherwise known as Wo Fat Pier Food–is hidden behind a gas station, with the entrance tucked away with aquariums and boxes filled with water and live seafood. Unlike most traditional eateries, Cais 22 has an English menu where you can find the tried and tested favorites like scrambled egg with shrimps, stir-fried noodles with beef, but also various seafood dishes like steamed clams with garlic and other kinds.
There’s also a Chinese menu worth taking a look into, as there are way more dishes than in the English one. Staff is super friendly and this is a place very popular amongst both locals and expats–mostly Portuguese. The restaurant is set in the waterfront, allowing for a classic view towards the Pearl River Delta and China, on the other side. Cais 22 features a large outdoor area with tables fitting more than six people; smoking is allowed on those.
There’s usually a big boat docked close to that area. This eatery is perfect for people looking to take the party through the night: it’s opened until around 3:00am. It also serves beer and other alcoholic drinks, such as whiskey and vodka. Tea is free.
Opening hours: daily, 4:00pm–3:00am
