Opened since 2004, Le Cesar Nova Taipa is a restaurant and cafe specializing in Portuguese food, but also serving some Italian dishes such as pizzas and pastas. Offering a friendly service and reasonable prices, Le Cesar has set lunches and is set in a central area in Taipa. It’s a meeting point for expats—especially Portuguese—but also for business and family meals. Homemade cakes and desserts are available with the daily set lunches as well.
Dishes include francesinha, a tradicional dish from the north of Portugal. Starters include codfish dumplings with black eye bean salad, scrambled eggs with asparagus and Portuguese sausage, garlic prawns, cheese and seafood platters, among others. Mains at Le Cesar include traditional Portuguese duck rice, shredded dried codfish Portuguese style with allumette potatoes mixed with eggs, and more.
