The first children’s library in Macau, Wong Ieng Kuan Children’s Library in Areia Preta Urban Park is located in the north of the Areia Preta Urban Park, just opposite the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Areia Preta Urban Park. Prior to the renovation, the children’s library was formerly the Northern District Public Services Centre. The library was unveiled to the public on July 2, 2011, themed around the children’s book Alice in Wonderland before it was repackaged with the animation theme Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf on 1st December 2012.
With an area of 210 square meters, the structure features a circular children’s play area, where children can play and activities can be held. It contains approximately 6,593 volumes, 676 audiovisual materials as well as 30 types of periodicals, with a seating capacity of 59.
