Shoulou / Money Tree, by Garth Johnson
This is an exceptionally creative and striking piece that takes us back to a fairy tale. This porcelain teapot piece is part of the “All That’s Gold Does Glitter – An Exhibition Of Glamorous Ceramics” exhibition, at The Venetian Macao. By combining fun, historic and pop elements, Johnson created a colorful piece that is a must-see! Curiously enough, it was his first trip to China that got him even more into ceramics, especially after learning all about the material’s history in this country. This, together with the knack of inserting symbolism in his art, results in such pieces, where he also explores the concept of luck.
