Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day and in Macau, a local breakfast would usually consist of noodles, rice and dim sum. To find our our favorite local breakfast spots, click here. However, when it comes to a Western breakfast, there may be a little less choice compared to local fare but there are some absolute gems serving up amazing brekkie in Macau. Not to fear, we’ve got some great eateries for you to check out to help start your day right!
Cathedral Cafe
How do you like your eggs in the morning? At Cathedral Cafe you can have them poached, scrambled or in an omelette. Try the unusual Salmon Marinara Omelet to jazz up your morning, or their jam packed Big Boss Omelet which includes bacon, ham, onion, bell peppers, shiitake mushrooms and tomatoes, all topped with cheddar cheese. If you’re in need of a quick bite then go for the Sweet Tooth Breakfast Set consisting of a croissant with Nutella and an espresso which will get you going first thing in the morning.
The cafe is just around the corner from the main sightseeing spots, so before starting your day of exploring, grab a hearty breakfast here!

McSorley’s Ale House
No matter where you go in the world you’re guaranteed to find a friendly Irish pub, and here in Macau there’s no exception. The warm lighting and cozy atmosphere of this popular ale house will make you feel instantly at home. At McSorley’s, you are presented with three options–the staple steak and eggs, the ever popular Eggs Benedict, and of course the big breakfast. Hailing from the British Isles, the stand out breakfast item on McSorley’s menu has got to be the black pudding, rarely seen in Macau.
McSorley’s is definitely the place to be to get a taste of a real British breakfast washed down with a cup of tea.

LAX Cafe
Relax at LAX Cafe with a cup of tea or coffee with every breakfast dish on their menu. We love their protein and vegan wrap which features scrambled turmeric tofu, black beans, avocado and tomato chilli salsa. Together, the ingredients create a beautiful breakfast concoction. If you’re in the mood to indulge in something sweet, then try the Wildberry Frencho–a combination of French toast, blackberry jam, Nutella, strawberries and blueberries topped with a creamy creme Chantilly. Looking for something a bit healthier? Then give their refreshing smoothies a go. Our favorite is the Fab4–a simple mix of banana, papaya, strawberry and orange. No added sugar. No added milk. Just pure goodness.
What makes this cosy cafe extra special is their dog friendly policy. Not only do they welcome furry friends but there is a special menu for our beloved pooches too. This makes LAX Cafe the ultimate breakfast stop after a morning walk with your four-legged friend.

Edinburgh Cafe
The child-friendly Edinburgh Cafe offers a brunch menu until 3.00pm which is great for those of us who love breakfast but just don’t do mornings. Decorated with gold-framed paintings and tartan drapes, we recommend you try the aptly named Royal Brunch to help you settle in with the plush decor. This brunch includes silky smooth scrambled eggs matched with luxury black truffle atop a croissant, and sausages, bacon, salad, chips and beans. Make your brunch extra special and indulge in a Scottish themed cocktail such as the beautifully crafted Sunrise in Isle of Skye. For a dry brunch opt to pair your brunch with one of their many luxury British teas.
The cafe is perfect for all ages, adults will be charmed by the quirky interior and children are sure to fall in love with the old teddy bears placed around the cafe.

Round-The-Clock Coffee Shop

Pop by for brekkie any time of the day and they’ve got a varied menu for you to peruse. Have a fresh fruit platter or a plain yogurt if you fancy a light bite.
