Lost In Translation is a mixed media artwork installation that makes use of video, sound and photography, created from written and spoken words in three languages (Portuguese, Chinese and English) and all their graphic and phonetic representations. Pictures of warnings, labels, toponymic signs, store names, characters, symbols and words have been recorded, fragmenting the explicit meaning within the 3 languages and giving a visual and sound meaning.
The installation explores the public’s senses, within the verbal exchange of language, beyond what is in photographs, sounds, silences, breathing, noise and suspensions, increasing what remained Lost In Translation. Co-creation, concept, video and photography by Vera Paz and Ricardo Moura.
