Celebrating the traditional Tanabata Festival, Okura Macau’s signature Japanese restaurant Yamazato is presenting an exclusive Tanabata Gozen set lunch for the entire month of July. Set lunch includes appetizers, Amanogawa sashimi on rice, accompanied by simmered somen noodles with plum, steamed egg custard, simmered vegetables and desserts.
Tanabata is an ancient Chinese love story derived from two thousand years ago about the Princess and the Cowherd, who could only meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar. It was introduced to Japan as a traditional festival afterward. Japanese would write their wishes on Tanzaku paper (colorful, small strips of papers) and hang them on bamboo branches for making wishes and decorative purposes.
