The 1001 Inventions award-winning exhibition “The Golden Age of Arabic Science” is being exhibited at the Macao Science Center. This is the first time the international exhibition, that has toured more than 40 cities around the world is in Macau. Featuring over 60 interactive exhibits, short films, theatre shows, science demonstrations, hands-on workshops and learning resources the exhibition introduces a rich history of science and culture from a thousand years ago starting in the 7th century.
The exhibition offers visitors an exciting journey to discover how during the creative golden age of Arabic science, that spread from Spain to China, scholars of many faiths and cultures built and improved upon knowledge of ancient Greek, Persian, Indian, African and Chinese civilisations and made breakthroughs that have left their mark on the way we live today.
In addition to signature 1001 Inventions exhibits including a replica of the 13th century Elephant Clock by the ingenious engineer Al-Jazari, the exhibition at the Macao Science Center features many highly engaging experiences including the Abbas ibn Firnas Virtual Reality flight simulator, the gesture-control Quizdom game, the habitat nature digital game among many others interactive exhibits that are fun for the whole family.
