This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Clara Schumann, a 19th century German pianist and composer also became famous for her unflinching love for her husband, fellow-composer Robert Schumann. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Macao Orchestra put together a special programme, part of its “Shining Virtuosos” series, featuring Clara Schumann’s “Piano Concerto in A minor” and Robert Schumann’s “Genoveva”, plus “Symphony No. 4” by Johannes Brahms, a close friend of the couple. Conductor Lio Kuokman leads Chen Sa on the piano for a performance lasting approximately 90 minutes, including one 15-minute interval.
