Located in Harbour City’s Ocean Terminal Extension, globally renowned truffle brand, Artisan de la Truffe, offers guests the chance to indulge in a menu packed with truffle goodness at an affordable price point. Whether you like your truffles black, white or seasonal, infused or freshly-shaven, there is something on the menu sure to satisfy your cravings at this truffle kingdom.
The unassuming contemporary French restaurant is airy yet intimate, sleek and minimalist in design and boasts floor-to-ceiling views of the iconic Victoria Harbour. The breathtaking views are the perfect accompaniment to their special lunch set menu showcasing the finest seasonal truffles. Available until January, 2019, the new menu at Artisan de la Truffe is presented by local celebrity television chef, Ricky Kam-cheung Cheung and Head Chef Manful Lee Man Lung.
The truffle escapade begins with the Soupe aux Champignon, a smooth and creamy porcini and mushroom soup enhanced with truffle shavings. Earthy, rich and wholesome, one can easily have two or three servings of this. For a lighter option, the Salade Burrata is an equally delicious alternative complete with vine tomatoes, pesto, truffle shavings and of course, a healthy serving of milky burrata cheese.
For the main, you can try Tagliatelle, an Italian favorite. The al dente pasta is seeped in a creamy white wine sauce and topped with truffle, freshly shaved right in front of guests. As one mixes the pasta each strand becomes coated thickly in the rich sauce, and the air becomes consequently filled with a deep and musky truffle aroma. Flavourful and moreish, it’s no surprise this dish is one of the most favored on the menu at Artisan de la Truffe. For those feeling a little more adventurous, the Casserole De Fruites De Mer – king prawn, tomato and truffle shavings – is an unconventional yet tasty twist to the menu.
Though suitably satisfied after two courses, leave room for a sweet treat from the dessert menu. The truffle-infused Crème Brulee served with truffle ice cream offers a distinctive and powerful punch of vanilla while the pungent truffle, yet again, awakened the senses.
Enticing the palate with an array of exquisite dishes, the set lunch (MOP $215 for two courses or MOP $256 for three courses) is a true steal, allowing diners to enjoy what has become one of the world’s most expensive culinary ingredients at an affordable rate.
