Have you noticed how the city recently turned all red, blue and white with all those iconic HUSH!! posters? HUSH!! Full Music festival is on everyone’s lips but what is it exactly and why you should go? Keep reading to find out everything you wanted to know about Macau’s hottest outdoor event.
What is HUSH!! Full Music festival?
HUSH!! Full Music is a Hac-Sa Beach outdoor music festival with 10 years of history. It was born as an attempt to encourage local musicians to shine on stage and show the Macanese audience what they got. After so many years, this is still the festival’s goal and one of its most important sides. Among the three festival stages, one is dedicated specifically to young talents from Macau.
That said, the festival has grown into more than just a stage for locals. Since its creation, dozens of local and international musicians rocked the HUSH!! stage. The diversity of music genres significantly increased and this year lineup promises to satisfy music fans of any genre.
Who is behind HUSH!!
The Cultural Affairs Bureau, Municipal Affairs Bureau, the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Marine and Water Bureau joined forces to create what has become a summer smash. What’s better than a three-day music festival? A three-day outdoor music festival on the beach!
What is the location?
Since its creation, renowned Hac-Sa Beach has become the annual site for HUSH!!. Stretched along the eastern part of Coloane island, Hac-Sa is the largest beach in Macau. For year and years, Hac-Sa Beach has been a famous spot among locals for its chill vibe, peaceful nature, as well as cheap and delicious barbeque treats on the beach promenade. Other than that, it is a perfect location for a music festival away from the bustling city.
What’s the lineup?
This year, HUSH!! Full Music will have three dedicated stages. The principal one is the Hot Wave stage with a non-stop music marathon. Prefer jazz, folk, electronic and experimental music? Then The Summer Chill would be your stage. In case some of the songs get under your skin, there will be a booth with albums and band merchandise.
If you are curious to get to know local rising stars, head to the GEG Upbeat Power stage, supported by the Galaxy Entertainment Group. 10 bands from Macau will be presenting their new tunes and they need your support!
This year’s lineup features musicians from Macau, Hong Kong, Japan, UK and more. We’ve put together our top picks of bands to pay special attention to at the festival. For a detailed schedule, check the HUSH!! Full Music website.
Why should we go?
Because music always sounds better live, a festival is always a good idea! HUSH!! is a great opportunity to see some of the most talented Macau musicians in the same place, at the same time. If you are willing to freshen up your playlist with new songs, mark these three days of HUSH!! in your calendar. Besides, chilling on a beach in great company or dancing on the sand to bumping music–isn’t that just the best?
Is there anything besides music performances?
To create a 360-degree festival experience and showcase local art and crafts enthusiasts, a Flea Market will host some booths with fashion, jewelry, handicraft and more. Also, there are six hush! stalls which selling hush! branded products. They are JE Handcrafts, Choco Flower and others. Can families and children join the festival? Of course! A number of energetic representatives from the Grand Coloane Resort will hold focused on creating fun interactive experiences, featuring art workshops and game booths.
What if I get hungry?
The Flea Market includes a food court where you can fuel up with some bites and drinks.
