This December, bring out the writer in you! Write down your best ideas for the 5th edition of Script Road’s Short Story Competition and be eligible to win monetary prizes and more!
This year’s competition runs until December 31 with writers Ricardo Adolfo, Chan Koonchung and Bengt Ohlsson acting as the judges and responsible for choosing the best stories.
Submissions can be made in Portuguese, Chinese and English and there are prizes for submissions in each language. Besides the MOP $10,000 prize for first place, the winner will also have the opportunity to have his or her story published in a trilingual book next to the renown authors that visited Macau for the festival in March.
Anyone can participate and there are only three rules: you need to write a story about Macau or set in the city, the text has to be original and has a limit of 3,500 words for the Portuguese and English stories and 6,000 for the Chinese submissions. Each participant can send two texts, so you double your chance to win!
The book with the winning stories will be published in March of next year, just in time for one more edition of Macau Script Road – Literary Festival. The event was launched in 2012 and is currently one of the city’s biggest festivals, bringing together writers, journalists, musicians, film directors and artists.
