A HAIRY CRAB TO REMEMBER AT SOFITEL MACAU AT PONTE 16
Autumn is the peak season for enjoying hairy crab and Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 is taking it to the next level, with a Cantonese feast and a buffet dinner celebrating all things crab! The luscious crab oil and brown meat are at their best this time of year — mouth-watering temptations that are hard to resist.
Renowned for its exquisite Cantonese cuisine, Le Chinois Cantonese Restaurant is treating guests to an enticing Dongting Lake hairy crab feast. Due to its flow of fresh water and rich sediment, Dongting Lake is considered to be the perfect locale for farming river crabs in Mainland China. The master chefs of Le Chinois Cantonese Restaurant have created an eight-dish hairy crab set menu using top-quality Dongting Lake hairy crabs. The feast begins with variations of crab, an appetizer that consists of refreshing crab fruit salad, crispy crab meat spring rolls, and juicy crab meat xiao long bao. Guests can then savour nourishing delicacies that include braised sea cucumber with hairy crab roe and bird’s nest and crab meat thick broth. Next up is the star of the feast — steamed whole hairy crab with shiso Leaf. Steamed garoupa fillet and egg custard in crab meat sauce follows with seafood and vegetables in supreme broth, and lobster and crab meat fried rice. The feast ends on a perfect note with sweet potato ginger tea and glutinous rice balls to offset the cold properties of the hairy crab.
