Casa de Portugal em Macau–commonly known as Casa de Portugal–is a local association with the aim of spreading and maintaining the Portuguese language, culture, and traditions in Macau. Although the association was originally created to bring Macau’s Portuguese community together, it’s now open to everyone.
Besides representing Portugal in Macau, Casa de Portugal also organizes countless courses and classes, usually taught in English, but also Chinese and Portuguese. The association’s school includes classes in ceramics, engraving, painting, jewelry, Portuguese language, and more.
They also have several classes for small children and teenagers, including an annual summer camp with diverse activities and entertainment. Casa de Portugal em Macau also has a Portuguese restaurant called Lvsitanvs. The restaurant serves traditional Portuguese dishes at affordable prices. The association welcomes Portuguese and non-Portuguese speakers, as there are different memberships, including Portuguese citizens but also foreigners living in Macau looking to learn more about this country’s culture and traditions.
