Close to the world’s tallest statue of the goddess A-Ma (or named Tin Hau), on the mountaintop on Macau’s Coloane Island, is A-Ma Cultural Village. This complex-like area celebrates the eponymous goddess, also known as the Goddess of Seafarers. The village architecture mainly comprises a pavilion-style front gate, a carved marble altar, the Tin Hau Palace, the Dressing Hall along with the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower.
The grand complex attracts A-Ma devotees and interested tourists alike for a visit. Nearby, visitors can refresh themselves at the park next to the village, or follow the hiking trail up to the magnificent A-Ma Statue and enjoy a captivating view of the island. A-Ma Cultural Village is a great venue to visit with kids and friends and get to know a bit more about the city’s history.
