The Macao Cultural Centre was founded in 1999 and remains a modern space that marks the cityscape surrounding it. The Grand Auditorium–with a capacity for 1,076 spectators–and the Small Auditorium for smaller shows and movies, with 389 seats. Both halls have simultaneous interpretation booths, as well as the most sophisticated sound and light systems.
The Macao Cultural Centre in Macau focuses on contemporary art and also classical music concerts. Its architectural design is modern and minimalist, with sleek lines. The building also houses a café and the Macao Museum of Art, which focuses on contemporary art and some classic exhibitions featuring the works of international artists.
Besides the auditoriums, there are other important spaces in the complex, such as a conference room with a capacity for 200 persons, a rehearsal room for orchestras, music and dance studios, a multi-purpose rehearsal room, a VIP room, and more. The Cultural Centre also has a parking lot, box office and a reception desk and is served by a wi-fi system.
The center’s ground floor also houses the Creative Macau – Center for Creative Industries, an art gallery and exhibition center with free admission.
