Located on the third floor of Karl Lagerfeld tower in Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, Mesa–translates to “dining table” in Portuguese–is a stylish restaurant and bar offering Portuguese dishes with a flair and a selection of classic and creative cocktails. Designed by late fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, Mesa’s interiors unequivocally speak the designer’s sophisticated style. Geometric patterns and golden, black, and white tones have been cleverly combined with oriental motifs to create a stunning dining destination.
Helmed by Chef de Cuisine André Lai, Mesa offers Portuguese contemporary gastronomy. Some of the menu highlights include spiced horse mackerel cones with smoked mayo, “piri-piri” chicken with sweet potato chips and “Lagareiro” style octopus and spiced horse mackerel cones with smoked mayo. To enhance the dining experience, Mesa features a curated wine list with wines from some of the most renowned Portuguese wineries, such as Quinta do Noval.
Mesa’s statement bar, evocative of a bird-cage–a profound cultural connotation tied with Macau–is the first thing that catches the eye as one enters the trendy venue. This is the perfect place for guests to grab pre-dinner cocktails before enjoying their meal over the restaurant area. Besides classic cocktails, Mesa’s bar features an impressive menu of twelve Macau-inspired signature cocktails mixed up by master mixologist Nokoy Mak and his team. Petiscos (Portuguese-style finger food) like sliders and tuna tartare are also served up at the bar.
