Minibar & Lounge is known for having tasty appetizers when you ask for a drink–salty popcorn, savoury peanuts and more. Minibar & Lounge also has a snooker table and it’s quite sought-after by locals looking to have fun. Minibar & Lounge’s venue is vast and fits several people. Besides the snooker table, there’re lots of high tables, seating area at the bar counter, some sofas and a private booth upstairs featuring a karaoke machine and lounge area. There are also live music performances from time to time with local and international talents.
Music is usually loud and comprises of rock, pop and some local hits as well. It also offers a particular local drinking game played with dice, called ‘show off’ (吹牛). Known all over China, it consists of guessing the total number of dice on the table, which are hidden inside non-transparent cups. When it’s your turn, you can either lie or tell the truth, but any of them can always say they think you’re lying, therefore making you disclose the entire game. If the announced number matches the real result, you’re free; if the contrary happens, you drink! Fun, right? There is also good music to keep the mood going.
Minibar & Lounge is located opposite to a gas station in Taipa, beside Supreme Food Market and behind Taipa Café restaurant. Easily accessible by bus–there’s a stop right in front of it–taxi and on foot for those living in the area.
