9 Seas, Mathieu Lehanneur
We all know that the seas are different shades of blue. But do we know how to distinguish each sea and ocean which fills our planet’s coasts? Mathieu Lehanneur took this task seriously and, aided by high definition satellite photography, selected nine beautiful seas and oceans from around the world to City of Dreams. His art piece reflects the earth’s power of putting so many different things together in one single place. Wondering what ocean each piece reveals? Wonder no more: (from left to right and top to bottom) North Pacific Ocean, captured in El Salvador, Pechora Sea, Russia, the Arctic Ocean, seen from Canada, the Gulf of Mexico, in Mexico, the Yellow Sea from China, the Great Lakes in USA and Canada, Davis Strait, captured in Greenland, and the Atlantic Ocean seen from both the USA and Brazil. Can you spot the differences?
