Asia’s 50 Best Bars Awards 100 Establishments: Macau’s Goa Nights Voted #100

This 2021 edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars awarded the traditional 50 best bars in the continent and highlighted 50 more. If you’re a cocktails fan and are thinking of where to head next for some fun and entertainment over crafted drinks and mixology science, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and Japan are definitely some of the must-visit countries. However, if you want to start breaking down the whole list, you’re closer than you might think: our very own Goa Nights has been voted the 100th best bar in Asia!

2020 was a tough year for almost everyone around the world, but the F&B industry was profoundly affected by the lack of tourism and the overall situation. These awards recognize the efforts made by bar owners and their teams all over Asia to keep the customer experience at the top. They are also rewarded for their creativity when it comes to mixology. Hong Kong bar Coa–also awarded the best bar in China–was this night’s big winner, standing in the first place. Goa Nights got #100 tied with Buccaneers Rum & Cocktails, in Manila, Philippines.

Other awards feature bars that made efforts in sustainability and other areas. Epic (Shanghai) was named the Campari One To Watch, “an accolade presented to a rising-star bar selected by the organizers of Asia’s 50 Best Bars as having the potential to break into the list in the future”, according to the organizers. Penicillin, from Hong Kong, wins the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award. This bar offers innovative cocktails made using locally sourced ingredients that are obtained through foraging and from local farmers and suppliers.
