Hot Pot Sensations Back for Its 4th Edition at Broadway Macau!

Chicken Hot Pot with Fish Maw Broadway Macau

Featured image: Chicken hot pot with fish maw

From true hot pot lovers to the curious, Broadway Macau’s 4th edition of Hot Pot Sensations is here to amaze everyone with this unique side of Chinese gastronomy. Think of it as comforting winter food, because that’s precisely what these homey meals are.

Still unsure? The basis of hot pot is the broth which can be either spicy or non-spicy with an assortment of raw ingredients such as vegetables, sliced meat, fish and seafood. The raw ingredients are put into the broth and boiled until they are cooked and can be enjoyed piping hot. The best thing is that every ingredient leaves its flavor behind in the broth making it taste even better, the more you boil! After boiling, enjoy your meat, fish or seafood on its own or with an array of condiments.

Until February 29, 2020, Broadway Macau offers one of the widest-ranging hot pot series in town! Prices range from around MOP $268 to MOP $600 per hot pot dish. Choose between 20 authentic varieties of hotpots at 14 different outlets across Broadway Food Street.

From braised lamb brisket casserole to suckling pig and lobster seafood hot pot, braised fish head and mutton hot pot, or seafood hot pot in rice broth, there is an incredible variety to try out at several restaurants in Broadway Food Street. Want to know more about these delicacies? Keep reading!

Choosing your favorites

Hot pot might be an acquired taste, but it surely has fans that have fallen hopelessly in love with it. For true hot pot lovers, what matters is diversity and the soup base itself. The rest is made of laughter, and talk with friends and family. Yes, these meals are also all about gathering and togetherness, as everything is meant to be shared at the table.

This fourth edition brings a whole lot of new things to try out, with recipes hailing from different parts of Chinese speaking areas, including Shunde (Guangdong), Macau, Taiwan, and many others. Snow crab and seafood miso hotpot, fish with chili and pickled cabbage casserole, braised Chongqing spicy chicken casserole are just some of our favorites, so be sure to try them out! The latter is certainly not for the faint of heart, so be sure to have it with other spicy food lovers, because it is definitely more than a tingle on the tastebuds.

The suckling pig and lobster seafood hot pot combine authentic Macanese flavors, bringing together the fresh sweetness of Boston lobster, shellfish and the satisfying succulence of suckling pig to entice the senses. Another all-time favorite is the seafood hot pot in rice broth which might just be what you’re looking for to warm the body and soul. The beautifully crafted congee is flavorsome and savory with a hint of sweetness from the seafood.

Bolder Dishes for an Authentic Experience

Looking for something out of the ordinary? You might just find that special and exclusive dish at this hot pot feast at Broadway Food Street! Some unique flavors are also available here: from a kimchi hot pot with Spanish luncheon meat and chicken to Thai tom yum seafood or miso flavored hot pots, this is crafted for foodies to experience aromas and flavors from all over the world in one single place! Different restaurants with specific cuisines have joined the party and are now offering hot pot-like dishes with their own ingredients and condiments.

For an even more exclusive experience, there are other must-try dishes. There is a braised turtle and chicken hot pot made in Hunan style which will surely pique the interest of curious diners. Also, who would’ve imagined fresh coconut water, boiled chicken and ginseng would go perfectly well together? As a broth, fresh coconut water brings out the succulent sweetness and umami of the chicken. The broth itself is packed with flavor, and with the addition of revitalizing ginseng, this dish is a delicious way to stay warm during the cold season.

If you love hot pot but like to stick to the traditional Chinese style, then go for the self-select premium beef from different countries, fresh organic vegetables or live seafood station. Pick what you like, place the ingredients in the hot pot of boiling broth, wait for everything to cook, and then enjoy with your friends and family!

Now that we’ve shared with you some of Hot Pot Sensations’ best-kept secrets, the only thing left to do is to book your table and have a blast tasting some of the best hot pot delicacies Macau has to offer. Also, post your hot pot moments on social media for a chance to become our “Hot Pot Foodie” of the month to win prizes for your next visit to Broadway Macau.
