Curry, masala, tandoori, and naan–these words are not foreign to any experienced foodie. It’s hard to find a cuisine that can compete with Indian food when it comes to spices and colors. And that’s what we love it for, even when we can’t handle the heat level! There is no burning tongue that a glass of lassi can’t save. To learn where to get the best and the most authentic Indian food in Macau, check out this list.
Goa Nights
(See featured image above)
It’s not uncommon for new spots to become the talk of the town for some time. When the vibrant three-story Goa Nights appeared in Taipa Village in 2018, it instantly attracted much attention. Notably, it hasn’t lost popularity thanks to its original concept, delicious food, and some of Macau’s best cocktail lists. We love the laid-back atmosphere at Goa Nights and its staff’s attitude, who always welcome guests with a warm smile.
Now relocated to Broadway Macau, Goa Nights continues to shine in its new home. Its menu still focuses on dishes from Goa with a modern twist, serving them as small plates, aka tapas. That includes fish and seafood curries, smoky grilled kebabs, dips, bar snacks, and more—whatever you choose will be finger-licking good! Our recommendations include creamy Goan curry, fragrant and juicy pulled pork vindaloo bao, and vegetarian falafel sliders. The spiciness level is slightly adjusted, so don’t be afraid to burn your tongue. With small portions perfect for sharing, pair your meal with a few signature cocktails.
Opening hours: Monday–Friday, 12:00pm–2:30pm, 6:00pm–1:00am. Saturday–Sunday, 12:00pm–4:00pm, 6:00pm–1:00am.

Indian Garden
The story of Indian Garden began in 1977 when founder Antony Manuswamy immigrated to Macau. At the time, Indian cuisine was nearly nonexistent in the city. Missing the familiar flavors of home, Antony decided to change this. In 1990, he opened the first Indian Kitchen, quickly becoming successful. Over 30 years later, it thrives under the name Indian Garden, with additional locations in Mainland China.
To cater to local tastes, the chefs adjust spice levels and make dishes creamier for the Chinese palate. However, they remain committed to preserving authentic Indian flavors. The extensive menu showcases India’s diverse cuisine, offering specialties from Kerala to Kashmir. Guests can enjoy southern seafood curries, northern paneers and mutton, Delhi-style kebabs, and more.
Furthermore, Indian Garden excels at vegetarian dishes like aloo and dhal. The variety of biryanis and rice dishes is hard to beat. Moreover, there is delivery to Macau, Taipa, and Coloane.

The Himalayan House
The Himalayan House has been in Macau since 2015. The restaurant initially only served Nepalese specialties, becoming the first one in Macau of its kind. Today, it has grown into two branches and offers both Nepalese and Indian food cooked by Nepalese and Indian chefs.
The Himalayan House menu is considerably long, but not to the extent of getting lost. Yet, if you are unsure what to choose, pick something from the chef’s recommendations or ask a waitress. The staff does know all the dishes, ingredients, and methods to perfection. The number one must-try dish here is momos, large dumplings filled with chicken, spices, and herbs. That juicy and fragrant filling goes so well with the in-house spicy sauce. Pair it with some refreshing mango lassi (probably the best one in town) made with the ripest fruit. Apart from that, their curries are also a must, especially the creamy mutton curry. Last, don’t skip the tandoor selection that features many Indian types of bread baked in-house. The thick cheese naan is one of our favorites!

Indian Spice
Modern design in calm shades, rustic wooden furniture, and Indian wall art create an elegant setting at Indian Spice, perfect for a casual dinner. Owned by the team behind Goa Nights, this restaurant shares the same commitment to high-quality and friendly service. However, while Goa Nights takes a modern twist on Indian cuisine, Indian Spice stays true to traditional recipes.
Primarily focused on Northern Indian dishes, the menu includes specialties from other regions. Jain and Gujarati diners will find suitable options and halal dishes will be available, too. Some items are rare in Macau, such as paneer malai tikka, spinach and cheese rolls, and prawns tandoori. If you’re not into spicy food but love Indian flavors, plenty of mild yet flavorful options exist. Try the chicken malai tikka, tender and juicy kababs, or one of the rich paneer dishes. Favorites like keema matar (minced lamb with peas) and creamy butter chicken are worth returning for.
As for drinks, the menu features classic Indian lassis and chai alongside standard cocktails like tropical Blue Hawaii and New York Sour. Perfect pairings for an unforgettable meal!
