The giant Rubber Duck has finally made its way to Macau. Bringing a whole new experience to locals and tourists, the Rubber Duck theme expanded to Macau Fisherman’s Wharf where the “Rubber Duck Garden” event is held from April 29 – May 29, 2016. Not only is Fisherman’s Wharf near the Macao Science Center, its outdoor area between the Babylon Casino and Rock’s Hotel also seems like a great and spacious place to hold the event. It opens from 10:30am in the morning until 8:00pm and is totally free of charge! With 40 carnival and game booths that include snacks and souvenirs, as well as the chance to take pictures with several adorable Rubber Duck statues placed around Fisherman’s Wharf, it is truly a must-go.
In partnership with Fisherman’s Wharf Rubber Duck Garden, the Harbourview Hotel and Rock’s Hotel are offering wonderful themed services such as special hotel room packages and high-tea sets to enhance the experience. We tried the Rubber Duck High Tea Set at Vic’s Café in Rock’s Hotel and the food was extraordinary! Like any other tea sets in Macau, a combination of sweet and savory choices were served and was accompanied by a choice of coffee or tea. It all tasted incredibly delicious and a few specific items got our special attention because they tasted different or were new to our palates.
Best menu items, strongly recommended:
Golden-fried Shrimp with Coconut
Curry Chicken Roll
Yellow Duck Mango Mousse Cake
Orange Duck Breast Sandwiches
A fusion of both Asian and Western styles, the whole tea set will make you want to order for more; probably because of their Michelin Chef! What’s more, the tea set was pleasingly decorated with Rubber Duck shapes and faces, which made it almost too cute to eat! Not to mention, totally Instagram-worthy! While dining in Vic’s you can truly appreciate the 18th century -like Victoriana beauty of Rock’s Hotel. The ambience provides a whole new feel to your view on Macau. It provides you with a genuine high-tea experience given their décor and architecture. In addition, you can even enjoy it at Vic’s outdoor dining area with a scenic ocean view of the outer harbor of Fisherman’s Wharf.
You can order the whole tea set at MOP $98 for one or MOP $188 for two; considerably cheap in comparison to other similar sets in Macau, let alone hotel restaurants. It is available from 3:00pm – 6:00pm From April 29th to May 29th. It could be considered as the perfect ending after visiting the floating giant Rubber Duck itself and enjoying the fun activities held at Fisherman’s Wharf Rubber Duck Garden. Don’t miss the chance to try some “quack-ingly” tasty and adorable hors d’oeuvres!
