The Feast of Na Tcha is deeply embedded in the history and culture of Macau. It is included on Macau’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List and has also been inscribed onto the fourth Representative List of State-Level Intangible Cultural Heritage Items.
This year, the Feast of Na Tcha is celebrated with a 3-day activity at the Na Tcha Temple located near the Ruins of St. Paul’s, with worship ceremonies, rituals, Cantonese opera and a parade. One of the most prominent parades is the Prince Na Tcha Parade on June 12 that starts at 10:00am from the Na Tcha Ancient Temple located on Calçada das Verdades, passing along Rua de São Domingos, Rua das Estalagens, Rua de Cinco de Outubro, Rua da Felicidade, Rua Sul do Mercado de S. Domingos and Senado Square before returning to the Temple, with a golden dragon guard and celestial beauties scattering petals in attendance.
