What do you love about living in Macau?
I love the fact that life in Macau is pretty relaxed. It’s a small place and it’s very convenient to go from one place to another. The cultural blend between the East and West really gives Macau it’s unique feature.
What do you do in Macau?
Right now I work in multimedia, video production to be exact.
Where do you get your style inspiration?
I get a lot of inspiration from the street culture around the world. I usually don’t know how to explain a certain thing or piece that I want but I know what I want when I see it. A few of my style inspirations are Jerry Lorenzo (IG: @jerrylorenzo) and Denny Balmaceda (IG: @denny623).
Favorite piece in the wardrobe?
My current favorites are denim jackets and longline tees. They are useful for layering in the chilly weather although I think that denim jackets are still applicable during summer. Just throw in a basic or simple graphic tee under a denim jacket and you’re good to go.
How can Macau inspire the way you dress?
I think the cultural diversity can inspire the way you dress. You see people of different nationalities and personalities; they dress differently from one another.
What would be an ideal weekend in Macau?
My ideal weekend would be brunch on a Saturday, shooting around the streets with Carla (www.carlaviolet.com) or sometimes alone and just chilling out the whole day.
What is your view on Macau’s fashion scene, do we have one?
I see a few stylish people around, but generally speaking, people in Macau dress really simple. I don’t see any concrete fashion scene happening in Macau right now. I’m pretty sure there will be one someday.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say minimal with some influence from the street culture.
What’s your favorite place in Macau to take photos?
I love taking photographs on the streets and scouting for new spots to shoot. I don’t really like shooting outfit photos in touristy places.
How do you stay different?
Do not imitate others. I know it is difficult for guys to dress differently from one another but for me, I try to get out of my comfort zone and try different pieces with various cuts and shapes with different brands. Do not focus on what other people think about your style. It’s your style, not theirs. Get inspiration from people you look up to and incorporate your own touch to it.
