Marcel Khalife will be stepping on stage for a great evening of musical exoticism and thrilling skill. Dubbed as one of the most prolific contemporary Arabic musicians, the Lebanese singer and oud master has been acclaimed worldwide for his avant-garde compositions and wistful optimism. Born and raised in a region shaken by a long war, Khalife never stopped dreaming about peaceful reconciliation in a multi-religious society. His contributions to the promotion of arts and culture have earned him recognition through numerous prizes such as the Palestine Award for Music, in 1999, UNESCO’s Artist for Peace, awarded in 2005, and the Académie Charles Cros Award in 2007.

MACAO LOTUS FLOWER FESTIVAL
An annual tradition, the Macao Lotus Flower Festival always attracts visitors to admire the beautiful perennial aquatic plant found far and wide throughout China. Themed ‘Splendour of Lotus Flowers’ this year, the main exhibition located at the Taipa Houses employs a landscape dotted with architectural elements typical of South Asia, incorporating pointed arches and repeated geometric patterns to highlight the beauty of the lotus.
Activities include “Lotus Flower Exhibition Area with Miniature Constructions of South Asia,” “Lotus in Scenery of South Asia—Lotus Flower Floral Art Exhibition,” “Enchantment of Exotic Lotus—Lotus Culture Photo and Literature Exhibition” from 7:00am to 10:00pm at the Taipa Houses.
Don’t miss the Lotus Flower Braided Bracelet Workshop from June 17 to 18, 2:30pm–5:30pm at the Taipa Houses.

COLOUR SHAPE LOVE – Works by Joaquim Franco
Joaquim Franco, a Macau senior Portuguese artist will have his solo exhibition opening entitled, COLOUR SHAPE LOVE—Works by Joaquim Franco in Art For All (AFA) at Art Garden. Franco worked in theater, as a set designer. He also undertook several interior design projects. As a scientific illustrator he worked in archaeology, ethnography and heritage protection. This time, a total of 19 acrylic paintings will be showcased.

DEBRIS WORKS BY ALEXANDRE FARTO AKA VHILS
The Cultural Affairs Bureau presents the exhibition Debris Works by Alexandre Farto aka Vhils, featuring more than 20 works including four new public murals, inspired by Macau. The show will take place at the Navy Yard No.1 Contemporary Art Center.
Debris is the first solo exhibition of critically acclaimed Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto AKA Vhils in Macau. The show will further explore the artist’s ongoing reflections on the nuanced relationships between contemporary urbanscapes and their inhabitants. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm except on Mondays.

MACAO ARTS WINDOW 2017 – HUNDRED SPECIES – WORKS OF PEGGY CHAN
Born in Macau, Peggy Chan received her Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, with her studio at the Cattle Depot Artists’ Village (Hong Kong). Her works include paintings, photographs, videos and installations, inspired by her daily life and imagination, exploring the triangular relationship between the individual, the city, and nature.
Cyanotype, the traditional photographic printing process, has been Peggy Chan’s favorite medium in her recent works. Highly dependent on sunlight and time in the creation process, the works incorporate the uncertainty of nature and signify how our lives flow along with the ever-changing environment.

PIONEERING WOMEN DIRECTORS: BREAK AND MAKE
Women have always had a unique, delicate, and deep sense in filmmaking, conveying their feelings toward worldly matters while men lack these touches. A total of eight outstanding women directors from Europe, the USA, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong are selected by Cinematheque Passion and their 11 great films will be screened.

RECORD OF LIFE: 30 – PRINTMAKING WORKS BY TUZI
Macau artist Ng Lai Seong, also known as Tuzi, will have her solo exhibition 30–Printmaking Works by Tuzi in AFA Macau at 6:30pm on Friday, June 2. Tuzi graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts with a Masters Degree in Printmaking. She is currently living and working as an artist in Beijing. This time, Tuzi will come back and hold her second solo exhibition in Macau. For this exhibition, she will show 34 artworks from her latest printmaking series.

TAIPA FLEA MARKET
