Anima is a Macau non-profit association established in 2009. Anima focuses on taking care of stray dogs and cats in Macau but also helps other animals in need like rabbits or birds. This association helps to spay stray dogs and also provides medical care, shelter and takes care of adoption by locals in Macau. Anima is one of the local associations where people can head to adopt a pet.
Anima also supported the closing of the former greyhound racing track, treated the dogs and dealt with their adoption. Located in Coloane, it features indoor and outdoor facilities for the animals to play and run. Cats and dog shelters are divided. Staff speaks Portuguese, English and Cantonese. Anima also does a series of activities to raise the population’s consciousness about abandoned dogs and cats in Macau.
Opening hours: Daily, 12:00pm–1:00pm and 2:30pm–5:30pm
