In the mood for a good steak? There’s certainly no shortage of great steak places in Macau to choose from. The dilemma as always, is which one? We did the thinking for you and picked five of our favorites, reflecting a range of prices and styles.
Caffe B Macau – Italian Restaurant & Bar
(photo above)
Caffe B is one of the best Italian restaurants in town under the leadership of magician, chef Diego Ottaviani. In addition to an amazing selection of antipasti, pastas and pizzas, Caffe B also carries top notch steaks from Australia, grilled to perfection of your desired doneness. If you want to go full-on protein, try the beef carpaccio. The restaurant is uniquely situated in front of the Nam Van Lake and decorated as an upscale trattoria. A small but well-curated Italian wine list.

Copa Steakhouse
Copa is already a Macau classic and a typical American style steakhouse: deep leather booths, a welcoming fireplace and rich wooden cabinets where regular customers store their personalized steak knives. The service is excellent and you kick things off with one of the several appetizers and then choose from a full range of Australian, US and Japanese beef. If you are feeling the surf more than the surf, go for a Norwegian salmon fillet. There are plenty of sides and, are you a mustard or salt lover? There are at least ten different varieties of each… will that do?

The Ritz-Carlton Cafe
Tucked between the breezy Galaxy mall and the lobby of the hotel, the classy bistro decor feels like Paris. The service and quality of ingredients meet Ritz-Carlton standards, as does the steak tartare from Chef Raphael; if you are a steak tartar aficionado, it’s one of the best you’ll ever try. If you prefer your beef cooked, the classic steak-frites is a must.

SW Steakhouse
The newest steakhouse in town and pushing the envelope of high end, which is reflected in the prices. The room evokes the luxury of 1950s Las Vegas, with large crystal chandeliers throwing light over metal and cream velvet chairs. There’s a center stage where every half hour the light goes down and a set of colorful puppet acts provide for some unique dining entertainment. The service follows the usual Wynn standards, which means you’ll feel at home.

The Kitchen
The quintessential business lunch venue, with arguably the best salad bar in town. The open kitchen allows you to supervise the grilling of your steak and also oversee their bread baking operation. The massive Hotel Lisboa wine list is available here, and also a sushi bar with some of the freshest fish available in the city. If steak is your thing, the rib-eye and tenderloin may not match some of the others in this list: but if your party is not all meat-lovers, this could be the perfect spot to meet good quality for all tastes.
