Belos Tempos is a small two-story restaurant located in Rua da Felicidade, one of Macau’s most historic and touristic streets. Serving Portuguese and Macanese food, it’s owned and run by locals with lots of love and care for both these gastronomic delights. It does dinner groups in its private dining room upstairs, and also takes take-away phone orders. The menu includes Portuguese francesinha, Macanese tacho and minchi, but also fried rice, curries, among others.
The owner–Ana Manhão–is keen on creating Macanese food and spreading the word on its traditional and cultural value. Macau was included in UNESCO’s list as a Creative City of Gastronomy for its local and unique cuisine: the Macanese. Belos Tempos aims to bring that tradition to life, but also create some Portuguese-inspired dishes, always depending on seasons and available products while maintaining a high quality standard. The restaurant is welcoming and caters to every generation and culture; from local Chinese to Macanese families, Portuguese, foreigners and visitors, Belos Tempos has a relaxing environment and offers comfort food at an affordable price.
