Located at the University of Macau, the museum houses a collection of rare coins and banknotes, including ancient China and the Republic of China, limited editions of contemporary banknotes, and circulating currencies. The exhibition also presents the history of currencies found in Western countries and Asia – mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, providing an insight into the development of Macau’s banking industry.
The Currency Museum at the University of Macau is located in Henqin and features a wide array of rare coins and banknotes, as well as a lot of useful and cool information on the history of currency, namely local and regional. It has interesting artifacts dating back to the times of ancient China, including limited editions of banknotes and so on.
Their permanent exhibition also showcases the history of currency in other Asian countries, as well as Western regions.
