Named after the iconic forerunner of China, the park has a statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen himself right at the entrance. It’s Macau’s largest park and one of our favourites. It includes a library, a small zoo, botanical gardens, a barbecue area, walking trails, an indoor swimming pool and other facilities.
Sun Yat Sen Park is ideal for people looking for peace and quiet, since although closely located to the Gongbei border, it stays away from all the city hustle and bustle. It’s covered with grassed areas and flowers, featuring a big lake, beautifully decorated in a Chinese style with bright colours like red and green. There are several areas destined to jogging, but also exercising, relaxing and seating locations where residents usually play majong and read the newspaper. We’ve included this beautiful spot on our guide to the best places with sports equipments in town.
Sun Yat Sen Park Opening hours: daily, 6:00am–00:00am
