Macau, celebrated as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, continues to shine in the culinary realm with its latest achievements in the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2024. The 2024 Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau celebrates the rich tapestry of culinary talent, inviting food enthusiasts to embark on a journey of gastronomic discovery in these vibrant cities.
Two exceptional Macau establishments have once again proven their dedication to culinary excellence by retaining the prestigious three Michelin Stars: Jade Dragon and Robuchon au Dôme.
Jade Dragon and Robuchon au Dôme: Consistent Pioneers
Renowned for their unwavering commitment to culinary mastery, Jade Dragon and Robuchon au Dôme have secured their positions as leaders in Macau’s gastronomic scene. Their retention of three Michelin Stars reaffirms their status as beacons of exceptional dining experiences, captivating patrons with their exquisite offerings and impeccable service.
Huaiyang Garden: A Rising Star
In a notable promotion, Huaiyang Garden has ascended to two Michelin Stars, becoming the sole restaurant in the guide presenting Huaiyang cuisine. Led by the esteemed Chef Zhou, the restaurant transports diners to the tranquil ambiance of a Jiangnan garden, offering a feast for the senses with its sophisticated Huaiyang fare. Fresh river fish, sourced twice weekly from the region, takes center stage in dishes like stir-fried shrimp with roe and tomalley, showcasing the culinary finesse that defines Huaiyang cuisine.
New Recipients of One Michelin Star
Adding to Macau’s culinary tapestry are two newly awarded one Michelin Star restaurants: Chef Tam’s Seasons and Sushi Kinetsu.
Chef Tam’s Seasons entices diners with its diverse à la carte menu, offering both classic and seasonal set menus that reflect the Chinese calendar’s 24 solar terms. Dishes like deep-fried egg custard infused with walnut or coconut milk and roast spareribs in black bean honey sauce showcase Chef Tam Kwok-Fung’s culinary prowess, while thoughtful pairings with Chinese wine and tea elevate the dining experience.
Formerly known as Shinji by Kanesaka, Sushi Kinetsu has undergone a remarkable transformation, now receiving recognition with one Michelin Star for its exquisite omakase offerings. With a commitment to quality unchanged, the restaurant continues to delight patrons with meticulously crafted sushi made by the same skilled kitchen team.
