There are some seriously good but somewhat expensive steaks in Macau and sometimes just the thought of dining out hurts the wallet. We hear you! These places are not only surprisingly affordable, but their chefs are masters of the grill. Enjoy!

What’s great about The Lounge is that you get to create your very own steak meal. Although the options are limited to rib-eye, sirloin and tenderloin Angus beef steaks, you’re free to choose and mix mustards from France and England, various sauces, as well as different styles of french fries and other side dishes.
We chose to have sirloin steak cooked medium well, topped with black pepper sauce, Dijon mustard, sautéed mushrooms, and accompanied by fat fries. But really, no matter the combination, the result is amazing. Don’t forget to end the night with their light and creamy cheesecake. Enjoy your own personalized steak meal for under MOP $230!

Hard Rock Cafe
The New York Strip Steak from Hard Rock is a do-not-miss. Cooked huge and juicy, it’s topped with maître d’ butter and a side of garlic mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies. Our verdict: simply delicious and mouthwatering.
Accompany your meal with a live band and a good selection of drinks!

Red Flame
Right in the middle of town, a group of young meat lovers had a vision for something different, and the result is a small steak place in a different setting; “industrial”, but relaxed. They have great combo deals with salads, risotto and pastas accompanying the typical rib eyes and tenderloin, which come to the table on a dark slab of rock. Definitely worth a visit.

Portugalia
Steak a’ Portugalia is the dish that gives the name to the famous Portuguese chain of restaurants, Portugalia. They are famous for their steak in Portugal and after trying it first hand, we see why. Although most people usually take their steak grilled with a serving of sides, Portugalia serves it with a creamy buttery sauce and a fried egg on top.
This might sound heavy, but their secret balance of seasoning makes it very enjoyable. The steak was cooked to our liking and super tender. The sauce was so yummy we were sopping it up with their amazing bread to finish off our meal. Priced at MOP $193.

Casa do Porco Preto
This steak was a surprise inclusion on this list, as it comes from a restaurant famous for their black pork dishes, but they also serve up a killer steak. It was a decent-sized cut, cooked to our liking and served with fried sliced potatoes, crispy parma ham, black olives and a fried egg on top. You might be thinking, we can’t possibly eat all that, but trust us, you can. We did! It was soft, juicy and just the right balance of flavors, and at MOP $228, definitely worth ordering next time you stop by Casa do Porco Preto.
