Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 – Five Macau Eateries Make the Cut

Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 list has finally been revealed! This year, the organization decided to make a bold move and include 100 eateries instead of just 50. Due to the pandemic’s strong impact on hospitality, its been decided to shed some light on some more restaurants, showing people the quality and high standards they have, as well as their efforts.

Macau also made it into this magnificent list:

50th place – Wing Lei Palace, Wynn Palace, Avenida Da Nave Desportiva, Cotai
68th place – The Eight, 2F Grand Lisboa, Avenida de Lisboa, Macau
88th place – Robuchon Au Dôme, 43/F, Grand Lisboa Hotel, Avenida de Lisboa, Macau
95th place – Sichuan Moon, Wynn Palace, Av. da Nave Desportiva, Macau
100th place – Jade Dragon, City of Dreams, Estrada do Istmo, Cotai

However, Macau’s awards don’t stop here. The organization has also crafted a list dedicated to local spots. The Essence of Asia initiative awarded Henri’s Galley, IFT Educational Restaurant, and Macanese restaurant, La Famiglia.

These glittering awards have spiked our desire to tour all these cool gourmet restaurants! This 2021, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants includes restaurants all around Asia. From Mainland China to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and exotic places such as Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, there are a bunch of places to check out once we’re able to get to the airport again. On Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ first place is Hong Kong restaurant, The Chairman, Hong Kong (also awarded Best Restaurant in Hong Kong and Asia).

South Korea claims four places on the list, India and the Philippines are both represented by two restaurants, while Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Indonesia each count one restaurant on the list.

How does this list gets put together? It’s made up of more than 300 specialists–chefs, food critics, and other experts–who join forces to create the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy. Divided into six regions (India and subcontinent; South-East Asia, South; South-East Asia, North; Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau; mainland China and Korea, and Japan), the voters represent the whole continent in a fair and just way.
