What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion is not just the way you dress but also the way you act.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say that my style is more street dance-oriented because it just helps me move more freely.
Your favorite place to shop in Macau.
Definitely H&M but currently loving Adidas originals!
Who was your first style icon?
I wasn’t really into fashion when I was young. I only started paying attention to it at a later age and that I should probably dress myself up more. So, I watched a lot of dance videos and I started to take notice of how the dancers would dress for their videos. If I had to pick someone that I really liked for his style, it would probably be Kanye West and ASAP Rocky.
What is your view on Macau’s fashion scene, do we have one?
I wouldn’t say Macau has a fashion scene but i think we teenagers take a lot of influence from Korean street style and it is quite similar to Hong Kong as well.
How can Macau inspire the way you dress?
Just from looking at Macau’s new street style stores it just makes me want to dress better and hopefully with the way we (the local youth of Macau) dress we can show people that Macau has potential to have it’s own fashion scene.
What would be an ideal weekend in Macau?
A night out at the clubs in the cotai strip, then the following day to explore the local food diners in Macau. I’d also explore the local areas of Macau because that’s not what many people usually come to Macau to see, since Macau is widely known for its casinos.
What’s your favorite place to take photos in Macau?
My favorite place would just be the alleyways and rooftops of Macau or places like the cultural center or the science museum because it also shows the view of Macau for what it is.
Who takes photos of your outfits?
I’ve had a few people take photos of me. Daniel Velasco, Kelly Vong, Joel Lobo and Nicole Sousa are among them. They really know how to take photos.
What’s your fashion motto?
I don’t really have a fashion motto, but I guess “whatever is dope, wear it”. (laughs)
When you can’t think of anything to wear, what’s your go to outfit?
It would definitely be black skinny jeans, a hoodie with my adidas jacket on paired with a hat and a pair Nike runners.
What is your favorite fashion magazine and why?
I don’t read magazines but I follow a lot of street style pages on Instagram such as hypebeast, their posts are dope because they post a lot on street culture and they don’t only focus on high end fashion brands.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
I’ve been told before to always give everything you’ve got no matter what you’re doing and to always put in effort into everything you do.
