What do you love about living in Macau?
My family moved to Macau when I was 4 years old. I enjoyed growing up here and seeing a mix of cultural structures and well-preserved historical landmarks from both the Chinese and Portuguese people. I am fascinated just walking around the small alleys which are a treat for a history lover like me.
What do you do in Macau?
I am a production assistant at the City of Dreams. I am also a writer and journalist for Macau Business magazine.
Your favorite place to shop in Macau?
I just recently discovered a small old clothing shop located near the St. Paul Ruins. They sell fantastic vintage clothes, however, Zara and G2000 are my definite go-to-stores whenever I need new clothes.
Who takes photos for your outfits?
I tried taking photos of myself with the use of a tripod but it felt awkward doing it in public places. So, I would like to thank my usual photographers who are my friends, sisters, and my girlfriend.
What’s your fashion motto?
Originality is the key. Create your own signature style and you’d be surprised by the creativity you have without the influence of other people.
What would be an ideal weekend in Macau?
My ideal weekend is spending it with my loved ones. We go to church and have brunch. Macau is abundant with culinary offers and it’s always a debate where to dine. A part of my bucket list here in Macau also includes experiencing the observation of mass in all of the churches.
Where do you get your style inspiration?
I admire how the older people dress up and by that I mean the grandfathers. Their style is so proper and timeless. Double pleated trousers, gray socks, shoulder pads and brogues dress shoes are just some of their main fashion statements which inspire my style.
How would you describe your personal style?
Dapper and clean. I like to always veer more to the classic side of fashion but at times, I still appreciate a kooky outfit.
Favorite piece in the wardrobe?
Plain white tops are definitely my favorite. They are very nifty and can be worn as both formal and casual wears.
How can Macau inspire the way you dress?
For me, choosing what to wear to work every day is one of the reasons I’m motivated even on the hardest Monday mornings. When you look good, you feel good. I also think Macau’s geography is an inspiration itself. I noticed that since Macau is a small place where you can basically walk to reach your destination, most people here in Macau invest in a good pair of sneakers.
