What does the word “fashion” mean to you?
Fashion for me is a show, and way to make a dream for us to have a better look, kind of how to show to other people “who I am”.
How would you describe your personal style?
I’m a really active girl so, chic style than sporty, it really fits me. This style is timeless, simple, comfort and beauty. But sometimes I still dare to evolve my style according to my mood and experiences.
How do you get your daily dose of fashion information?
Usually I pay attention to some profiles on Instagram and read some articles and magazines online.
Does fashion allow people to express their individuality or does it force people to conform?
Fashion has to be comforting and make you become yourself. I really doubt when someone forces themselves with something which doesn’t really fit them. We have to know how to work with what we’ve got and flaunt it without looking like a victim of fashion.
Does the media (or the fashion industry) play some role in creating or continuing stereotypes?
We can’t avoid stereotypes. This world has a lot of characters, appearances, and uniqueness, but most important is how we appreciate it and mix it to be appropriate.
How does Macau inspire the way you dress?
I love Macau architecture. A lot of streets and unique buildings catch my eye. I always prepare the outfit I’ll wear; depends on what place I’ll “go hunting” that day. I’m thinking of vintage style for my next photo hunt.
What do you think of Macau’s fashion scene? How can it be improved?
I think Macau still doesn’t have a specific fashion scene and youngsters mostly just wear shirts, t-shirts or working outfits. But I can see a lot of tourists from Korea, Japan—maybe it will help to make a diverse sense of fashion for Macau.
What’s your go to outfit when you don’t know what to wear?
When I’m lazy, I always wear ripped jeans shorts, crop top, with my favorite Adidas Superstars.
What is your favorite place to shop in Macau?
When buying some clothes I choose Venetian because there are a lot of brands with good prices there (H&M, Zara, etc.), but for shoes I prefer Senado Square—there is one long street with a lot of sports shoe brands there (Adidas, Nike, Sketchers), and for some makeup stuff I choose New Yaohan.
Who takes photos of your outfits?
My friends who are also really interested in photography.
How much attention do you pay to fashion in terms of trends in the way you dress?
I always update and if I really think that it suits to me I would like to mix and match outfits with my old collection and bring something new but still connect to the trends.
Which social media platform are you most active on? Why?
I like the Instagram features, it’s easy to access and friendly to use. Facebook page is second, because I can make some reviews and share more pictures and small articles there.
Which celebrities have the best style to you?
Martha Hunt, Baifern Pimchanok, and Mild Wiraporn.
How can Macau improve its fashion scene?
I see Macau can be developed to a high class, vintage, and street fashion scene. A lot of potential here. Macau just has to find the potential designer or people to influence and maybe make some launch of various international fashion design labels, shows.
